Vision Trips

Dental Team

In 2008 the Lord chose a handful of dental professionals and lay persons to serve the children and people of Nakuru, Kenya. Since then this team has returned 5 times with a 6th trip planned for February 2016. The team has grown to include 13 willing servants to perform dentistry for those who have had little or no dentistry in their lives. The 2014 team provided 458 exams, 187 cleanings, 154 fillings, 29 extractions, 2 root canals, and 1 stay plate to the schools and community we partner with in Nakuru. Through donations this team has been able to give toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss and hygiene instructions for home care. The changes in their smiles over the last few years have been amazing and are truly exciting. The team’s hope is that when they leave, the people of Kenya have experienced not only dentistry but a true vision of God’s love.

Guardian Projects

We have sent 25 non-dental teams to Kenya since 2002. These teams have enjoyed interacting with our sponsored children, as well as providing service to them in the form of work projects at the school to helping their families. Many teams have done sustainability projects for families such as building goat pens and providing goats; helping start small business ventures; rebuilding houses; and providing water tanks. Many teams have also been involved with providing food to the 120 families at the dump site and working with the students and helping build Maisha Mapya Preschool, which services students whose family live at the dump.
